Valentine Theme
Table
Materials:
electric stencil cutting pen
Mylar
valentine designs
unfinished wood table
2 Delta Stencil Magic: brushes, 3/8-inch
Delta's Ceramcoat Paints: Trompe Red, black
metallic gold marking pen
low track masking tape
artist brushes
palette
medium oak stain and sealer
sea sponge
cotton rags
Delta Foil Adhesive
Delta Renaissance; gold foil
220 grit sandpaper
Steps:

Follow instructions for using stencil
cutting pen. Place pattern under piece of glass. Secure Mylar (shiny side up)
to top of glass. Cut out pattern with stencil cutting pen.

Lightly sand table and remove dust with
clean cloth. Center stencil on tabletop and secure with small pieces of
low-tack masking tape.

Pour small amounts of black and Trompe
Red onto palette. Dip one stencil brush into Trompe Red and blot off onto
paper towel. Use a circular motion to apply paint to cut outs of stencil. Dip
another stencil brush into black. Dab on paper towel. Apply to edges of cut
outs and shade design to create depth (figure A). Remove stencil and
let dry.

Trace around entire design with gold
metallic marking pen (figure B).

Rub on a walnut colored stain over the
design. (figure C)

Add accents of black to table base with
artist brush.

Wet sea sponge and wring-out all water.
Dip into foil adhesive and lightly dab onto base. Add as much as desired. When
adhesive becomes tacky, apply gold foil face up over adhesive (figure D).

Use a clean cloth to wipe stain/sealer
over entire table. Let dry.
